TB 500 Australia: 10mg Research Peptide

TB 500 Australia: TB-500 is not full thymosin beta-4 but a seven amino acid fragment, Ac-LKKTETQ, from its actin binding region. Glow Labs sells it in 10mg freeze-dried vials for lab research. Tracked dispatch runs from Gippsland in regional Victoria, and delivery takes 2-3 days.

What it is

Research overview

What TB-500 is

A 2012 doping control paper describes TB-500 as a veterinary preparation whose key ingredient is the peptide LKKTETQ with an acetyl group added to its start.

That stretch, residues 17 to 23, is the part of thymosin beta-4 linked to actin binding and cell movement. Full thymosin beta-4 has 43 residues and a mass near 4963 g/mol, while TB-500 weighs about 889 g/mol.

What researchers have studied

Much of the science is on the parent protein. A 2012 review of thymosin beta-4 covered its roles in cell migration, blood vessel formation and tissue repair in skin, eye, heart and brain models.

TB-500 itself appears mostly in anti-doping chemistry. The 2012 paper built a method to detect the acetylated peptide and its breakdown products in horse urine and plasma, because of misuse in racing.

Direct, controlled studies of the short fragment are scarce.

TB-500 versus thymosin beta-4 on a certificate

The two are easy to tell apart by mass. A TB-500 batch should read near 889 g/mol, while full thymosin beta-4 sits near 4963 g/mol.

Storing the fragment

Store the powder in a closed vial below -15 °C. Suppliers note colder is better when holding peptide for many months.

Its sequence ends in glutamine, which tends to shorten shelf life once dissolved, so solutions should not be kept long. Keep the vial away from bright light too.

Regulatory status

In Australia

TB-500 appears by name in the TGA's examples of unapproved peptide products. Australia's Poisons Standard for October 2026 places it in Schedule 4, the prescription only group, and names it in Appendix D, clause 5. That clause covers poisons that must not be held without authority.

Healthy Male, an Australian men's health body, also explains its unapproved status and warns that calling it research only does not make selling or holding it legal. Our TB-500 is a bench chemical only.

FAQ

Your questions

How do I tell TB-500 from thymosin beta-4 on a certificate?

Look at the mass on the certificate. TB-500 comes in near 889 g/mol. Full thymosin beta-4 is a 43 residue protein of about 4963 g/mol, more than five times heavier.

Is TB-500 legal in Australia?

No. TB-500 is not approved by the TGA, and the Poisons Standard (October 2026) lists it in Schedule 4 and Appendix D, clause 5, so possessing it without authority is illegal. A research only label does not change that.

What is TB-500 used for in research?

Lab work focuses on the actin binding region of thymosin beta-4, and anti-doping labs study how to detect it.

How should TB-500 be stored?

Sealed, frozen and dry, opened only after warming.
