NAD Australia: NAD+ 500mg Research Vial
NAD Australia listings often sit beside peptides, but NAD+ is a coenzyme, not a peptide. Its full name is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, and every living cell uses it in energy chemistry. Glow Labs offers a 500mg freeze-dried vial for lab research. Delivery is tracked from Gippsland, Victoria, and takes 2-3 days to Australian addresses.

What it is
Research overview
What NAD+ is
NAD+ is two nucleotides joined through their phosphate groups. One carries nicotinamide and the other carries adenine. PubChem lists it as nadide, with formula C21H27N7O14P2.
There are no amino acids in it, so the common label NAD peptide is not accurate.

Questions about NAD+?
Ask on WhatsAppWhat research has studied
NAD+ carries electrons in redox reactions, which puts it at the centre of energy metabolism. It is also used up by enzymes such as sirtuins, CD38 and PARPs.
A 2021 review in Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology describes how NAD+ levels fall with age in rodents and in people, and how researchers are studying ways to raise them.
This is a very large and active field, from basic cell biology to clinical research on precursor compounds.
NAD+ and its related forms
NAD+ is the oxidised form. When it accepts electrons it becomes NADH, and cells keep switching it between the two in energy reactions.
Researchers also study precursors that cells turn into NAD+, such as nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide. These are separate compounds with their own research literature.

Storing NAD+ powder
PubChem describes NAD+ as highly hygroscopic, so keep the vial sealed, cold and dark with desiccant.
Make up only what is needed, since dissolved material keeps far less well than the dry solid.

FAQ
Your questions
Is NAD+ a peptide?
No. NAD+ is a coenzyme made of two nucleotides. It contains no amino acids.
What does NAD stand for?
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. The plus sign shows its oxidised form.
Why do researchers study NAD+?
It is central to energy metabolism and DNA repair enzymes, and its levels fall with age in many models.
How should NAD+ be stored?
Keep the sealed vial cold and dark with a desiccant pack. Moisture speeds up breakdown, so give the vial time to lose its chill before you open it, and close it straight after.
What is the difference between NAD+ and NADH?
NAD+ is the oxidised form. When it picks up electrons in a reaction it becomes NADH, and cells keep switching between the two.
