SS-31 Australia: 10mg Elamipretide Research Peptide
SS-31 Australia: Glow Labs lists SS-31, also called elamipretide, as a 10mg freeze-dried research vial. This synthetic peptide has four residues. It travels to the inner mitochondrial membrane and binds a lipid called cardiolipin. This vial is sold out right now, and you can pre-order it with a WhatsApp message. Orders travel tracked from Gippsland, Victoria, and arrive in 2-3 days.

What it is
Research overview
What SS-31 is
SS-31 belongs to the Szeto-Schiller family of peptides, named after the scientists who made them. PubChem lists the names elamipretide, MTP-131 and Bendavia for the same compound.
It has four residues and a mass of about 640 g/mol. The 2025 review says its structure lets many cell types take it up.

A 2014 review in the British Journal of Pharmacology describes SS-31 as the first cardiolipin protective compound.
A 2025 review sums up its structure and how it binds cardiolipin. It also covers preclinical and clinical studies in heart, muscle and nerve conditions.
In the United States, the FDA granted elamipretide accelerated approval as Forzinity. It covers muscle strength in Barth syndrome, a rare inherited disorder. That approval is limited to the finished medicine.

What cardiolipin does
Cardiolipin is a phospholipid found mostly in the inner mitochondrial membrane. It shapes the folded inner membrane and holds the respiratory complexes close together.
The 2014 review explains how cardiolipin binds a protein called cytochrome c. The way it binds decides whether that protein carries electrons or acts as a peroxidase. SS-31 binds cardiolipin selectively and was studied for its effect on that balance.
Storage of the powder
Keep the freeze-dried vial below -15 °C and tightly closed. Peptide guides advise letting it warm to room temperature in a desiccator before weighing any out. Reseal it straight away.
Do not store it dissolved for long; even sterile solutions slowly break down.

Regulatory status
In Australia
Elamipretide does not appear by name in the October 2026 Poisons Standard.
The US approval of Forzinity covers that finished medicine and that condition only. Our SS-31 is a research vial for the lab, with no medical standing.

FAQ
Your questions
What is SS-31?
A synthetic tetrapeptide, also called elamipretide, that targets cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
Is elamipretide approved anywhere?
Yes. In the US it has accelerated approval as Forzinity for Barth syndrome. That approval is for the US only.
What is the difference between SS-31 and MOTS-c?
SS-31 is a designed synthetic peptide that binds cardiolipin. MOTS-c is a natural 16 residue peptide encoded by mitochondrial DNA.
Why is SS-31 described as mitochondria targeting?
The 2014 and 2025 reviews describe SS-31 as entering cells and concentrating at the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it binds the lipid cardiolipin.
