What Selank is
Selank starts with tuftsin, the four residue peptide Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg, and adds the same Pro-Gly-Pro end found on Semax. PubChem lists the full chain as TKPRPGP.
It is a close cousin of Semax in design but comes from an immune peptide rather than a hormone.

A 2016 paper in Frontiers in Pharmacology measured 84 genes tied to nerve signalling in the rat frontal cortex after Selank or GABA, and found many of the same genes changed with both.
A 2019 rat study looked at Selank and memory problems caused by ethanol, measuring BDNF in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex.
Both studies were done in rats.

Selank compared with Semax
Both peptides use the same Pro-Gly-Pro end, but the front halves differ. Semax carries an ACTH fragment, while Selank carries tuftsin.
The 2016 study used GABA as its comparison compound.
On a certificate, Selank should read near 752 g/mol, which separates it from Semax at about 814 g/mol.

Storing Selank
Selank holds a lysine and an arginine, both residues that pull water into peptide powders. Bachem advises bringing a cold container to room temperature in a desiccator before opening.
Long term, freeze it below -15 °C and keep it dark.
