DSIP Peptide Australia: 10mg Research Vial

DSIP peptide Australia: this 10mg vial holds delta sleep-inducing peptide, a nine amino acid chain first isolated from rabbit blood in 1977. Its sequence is Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. If the vial is sold out, a WhatsApp message lets you pre-order one. Orders go by tracked post from Traralgon, Gippsland, and arrive in 2-3 days.

What it is

Research overview

What DSIP is

DSIP was named for its effect on slow wave, or delta, brain activity in rabbits. Schoenenberger and Monnier reported its isolation and sequence in 1977.

PubChem lists it under the drug name emideltide, with formula C35H48N10O15.

What research has found so far

In the 1977 study, synthetic DSIP was infused into the brains of rabbits and their brain waves were analysed. The team reported more delta and spindle activity than with related test peptides.

Later work has been less clear. A 2006 review called DSIP a still unresolved riddle, because no gene, protein or receptor for it has been isolated.

Why DSIP is still studied

The 2006 review notes that DSIP's structure does not match any other known peptide family.

The authors suggest a DSIP-like peptide may exist in the body and could explain the DSIP-like antibody staining seen in the hypothalamus. The review outlines future studies to look for it.

Any lab working with it can check its identity by mass spectrometry: PubChem lists a molar mass of 848.8 g/mol.

Storage for a tryptophan peptide

DSIP starts with tryptophan, which JPT names as a residue prone to oxidation. Bachem adds that peptides containing tryptophan have a limited shelf life.

Light matters too. JPT advises protecting peptides from light. A 2007 review lists tryptophan among the protein residues that light can oxidise, so store the vial somewhere dark.

Bachem notes that peptides tend to take up moisture. Keep the vial sealed and frozen with desiccant, and let it reach room temperature in a desiccator before opening.

FAQ

Your questions

What is DSIP?

It is short for delta sleep-inducing peptide, a small chain of nine amino acids. The name comes from the delta brain wave changes seen in rabbits in 1977.

How does DSIP work?

No one knows yet. A 2006 review noted that no gene, protein or receptor for DSIP has been isolated, so its natural role is still unclear.

Do you sell DSIP 5mg?

No. Glow Labs lists DSIP as a 10mg vial only.

Can I buy DSIP peptide in Australia?

Glow Labs supplies a 10mg vial of synthetic DSIP for laboratory research only, with the same nine residue sequence first found in rabbits. Order it on WhatsApp, and if it is sold out we take pre-orders.
